Welcome to the Georgetown University Women’s Center! The Women’s Center opened in 1990 and has been celebrating, honoring and empowering our campus community since its inception. We offer a diverse selection of educational programs, volunteer opportunities, services and resources to engage the Georgetown campus in meaningful ways. We work closely with students, staff, faculty and alumni to address the needs of our community and to create a supportive environment that is respectful and reflects our Jesuit values of Cura Personalis.
Our door is open! Please visit us in the Leavey Center and follow us on Facebook and Hoya link! We look forward to working with you and becoming an integral part of your experience at Georgetown. Hoya Saxa!
“As the fall semester wrapped up, the VOICES retreat seemed to come at the ideal time. I was about to enter finals, feeling exhausted after a draining election and long semester, and didn’t realize how much I needed a space surrounded by strong and thoughtful women. The weekend helped me recharge in many ways. The first night, we heard from an honest reflection from a Georgetown alum, who reassured me that it is okay if life after graduation is filled with moments of uncertainty. We spent the next day really digging deep into our own narratives through story circles and affinity spaces -- all of which challenged me to reflect on where I am coming from and how I see myself moving forward, as a woman, student, and friend. I left the retreat feeling hopeful and grateful that Georgetown created a space for community, especially in light of recent events.”
