The Women’s Center announced the establishment of the Biondi Copeland Family Fund in February 2014. Gianna Biondi (C’85) and John Copeland (C’84) are committed to women’s and gender issues and are providing resources to support the WAGE (Women Advancing Gender Equity) Fellowship, leadership retreats, conference attendance, and other programs and initiatives that support women’s leadership and the larger community of Hoya women.

Due to the generous gift of the Biondi Copeland Family Fund, we were able to organize and support the following educational programs and experiences:

  • The Biondi Copeland Lecture Series on Women in Higher Education, featuring President Patricia McGuire and President Linda LeMura
  • The Biondi Copeland Lecture Series on Women in Higher Education, featuring Professor Nancy Chi Cantalupo
  • Elect Her with AAUW and Running Start: A training for college students to run for elected office and leadership roles on campus
  • Are You Ready: Annual sexual assault and violence awareness program
  • WAGE meetings led by staff and alumni mentors
  • VOICES Retreat at the Calcagnini Contemplative Center with CMEA and Campus Ministry
  • VOICES Reunion Dinner
  • Annual Women’s History Month programs and events focused on gender, leadership, and intersections of identity
  • Writing Bravely Creative Writing Workshop with Georgetown University Library
